Introduction of Freight Information
The Traffic Scotland service has been enhanced with the recent integration of the Freight Scotland content.
This now brings the Traffic Scotland Desktop site in line with the Mobile site where the Freight Scotland content was integrated in 2012.
Within the new Freight section of the site there are the following additional sections specifically for the freight community:
- Ports
- Railheads
- Airports
- Road Restrictions
- Lorry Parking
- Industrial Estates
Each link provides access to a list of items along with links to a corresponding Google Map view.
In addition an area entitled Freight News provides a single source of information for any freight specific news, along with a further
enhancement of the What’s Near Me? functionality to cover the new Freight sections.
It is hoped that integrating these new data sources within the Traffic Scotland desktop site will help to raise the profile of the information available.
To support this new area a dedicated feedback form is also available to allow users to easily inform us of changes to the data presented and potential other
useful data that we should include.
