Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential overnight resurfacing work on the northbound A78 between Auchengate and Meadowhead Roundabout from Monday 13th May until Friday 17th May.

The work will be carried out using overnight road closures between Auchengate and Meadowhead Roundabout, and on the Meadowhead Roundabout exit to Troon, between 8pm and 6am each night and signed diversions will be in operation:

Northbound traffic will leave the A78 at Auchengate and follow the A759 to re-join the A78 at Meadowhead Roundabout.
Traffic for the B746 to Troon will take the southbound A78 and exit via the B746 off-slip at Loans and re-join the northbound A78 to exit at Auchengate. Local traffic may also continue through Loans.
Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.

This scheme will benefit around 7,700 vehicles using this route each day, by improving the condition of the carriageway and reducing the need for more extensive maintenance in the future.

We thank road users for their patience and co-operation while this essential work takes place.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
