SCHEME EXTENSION:

Please be aware that, due to scheme design changes, these works have been extended to Thursday 30th May.

The works are due to be undertaken under an overnight convoy between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night.

There will be no overnight works on Friday 17th May and Saturday 18th May, and on Friday 24th May and Saturday 25th May.

Traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Thursday 30th May.

The A96 carriageway south of Huntly is set to benefit from a £680,000 resurfacing scheme that will deliver improvements to the road surface.

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out overnight resurfacing on approximately 876 metres of the A96 from Sunday 12th May to Friday 24th May.

Work will take place between north of Gartly junction and Thomastown junction.

To ensure the safety of roadworkers and motorists the work will be undertaken under an overnight convoy between 7.30pm and 6.30am each night.

There will be no overnight work on Friday 17th May and Saturday 18th May.

When works are taking place across the Drumblade/Gartly junction, local traffic should use the A97.

When works are taking place across the Gartly junction, traffic should follow the A96 north to Huntly then turn left onto the Old Military Road to Gartly.

All traffic management is scheduled to be removed by 6.30am on Friday 24th May.

The resurfacing will benefit more than 8,700 vehicles who use this route each day, creating a smoother ride for motorists and reducing the need for ongoing maintenance.

Please note, all schemes are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
